Celtic Nations lead the charge for Heineken Cup glory.

The final round of pool matches for the Heineken Cup produced a host of surprising results that simply adds to the drama and magic of this tournament.

Not many rugby enthusiasts would have predicted that Connaught would overturn the Premiership table toppers Harlequins, or that Gloucester would beat Toulouse so convincingly at Kingsholm but this is precisely what happened. Clinical and professional displays from Edinburgh Rugby, Cardiff Blues, Munster Rugby and Saracens in their final pool matches ensured they all secured their place in the last 8. The dominantIrish Provence of Leinster produced another convincing victory over Montpellier to ensure they are in a position to defend their European crown in 2012.

The Amlin Challenge Cup will be contested by the 5 pool winners of Stade Francais, Exeter Chiefs, Brive, Toulon and London Wasps, and they are joined by Heineken Cup pool runners up Harlequins, Scarlets and Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque. The quarter final fixtures have once again thrown up some very interesting clashes, most notably the game between Toulon and Harlequins where many international players will be looking to get their club into the semi-finals, and one step closer to lifting silverware at the end of the season.
